Genesis Church Children’s Ministry Coordinator

Position: Part-Time, (25-30 Hours weekly)

Reports To: Associate Pastor of Spiritual Formation

Job Summary:

The Children’s Ministry Coordinator supports the vision and direction of the Next-Gen-Is-Us Ministries at Genesis Church. This position is to minister to infants-6th graders by partnering with their families in helping them know Jesus, talk with Jesus, walk with Jesus, serve Jesus, and invite others to Jesus.

Essential Duties:

  • Recruit, train, and shepherd volunteers working with infants-6th graders in Next-Gen-Is-Us Ministries.

  • Coordinate and evaluate curriculum for infants-6th graders for both Sunday mornings and Encounter fall semester mid-week service.

  • Ensure that Child Safety Policies are enforced.

  • Develop community among children and families.

  • Ensure the proper follow-up of new children and their families, seeking to engage them in the life of the church.

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with other ministry directors in which children’s ministry overlaps (i.e.: Music, Youth, Women’s Ministry, etc.).

  • Suggest and implement annual special events for Children (i.e. VBS, Back to School, Christmas, etc).

  • Work with Next Gen team to plan and implement Next Gen Sundays for the Church.

  • Attend weekly Next Gen Team Meetings and weekly staff meetings.

  • Pray regularly for children and their families at Genesis, Children’s Ministry volunteers, and programs and events pertaining to Children’s Ministry

Qualifications:

  • Once hired, the Children’s Ministry Coordinator must be a member and active participant of Genesis Church of Fayetteville.

  • A bachelor’s degree or work experience is required. A degree and/or training in early childhood education, elementary education, Christian education or related field is highly desirable.

  • Experience working with children’s ministry in either a lay or paid staff capacity is necessary.
