Wise Kids

A place where students are known, loved, and encouraged.

What is Wise Kids?

Wise Kids is an after-school ministry at Genesis Church created to build intentional, consistent relationships with students and their families.

Students come to Genesis after school for a safe, welcoming place to play, eat, grow, and spend time with caring adults. Each week includes snacks, outdoor play when weather allows, small groups, devotionals, games, art projects, and enrichment activities. Once a month, students and volunteers share dinner together as a larger Wise Kids family.

What began in 2015 with a small group of students has grown into a long-term ministry serving students from multiple Fayetteville public schools. In May 2025, Wise Kids celebrated ten years of ministry and its first high school graduates.

The goal is not just to offer activities. The goal is to walk with students over time, helping them know they are loved, supported, and never alone.

Who participates?

Wise Kids currently serves more than 40 students from six Fayetteville public schools, including Washington Elementary, Owl Creek Elementary, Happy Hollow Elementary, John L. Colbert Middle School, Ramay Junior High, and Fayetteville High School.

Students in kindergarten through 12th grade are part of Wise Kids, with age-based groups and schedules designed to support them well.
