Genesis Church Hospitality Coordinator

Position: Full-time

Reports To: Outreach Director

Job Summary:

The Genesis Church Hospitality Coordinator plans and prepares meals for various church events while assisting the Outreach Director in the management of the church facilities.

Essential Duties:

  • Coordinate meals for Morning Manna, Pick Me Up, Wednesday evening Encounter, Through the Roof Wednesday Nights, Cold Weather Shelter, Fruitful Followers events and other church events where food is requested.

  • Organize and manage a team of volunteers to assist with meals when needed.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and catalogued kitchen and pantry.

  • Order and manage food and supplies for effective meal preparation.

  • Enforce food safety and sanitation protocols, per local health codes.

  • Assist in the set-up and clean-up of spaces used for church and community events.

  • Follow through on a weekly punch list of maintenance needs of the church facilities, including cleaning and light repairs.

  • Collaborate with ministry leaders to support specific event needs. (e.g. NextGen Ministry, Outreach, Leadership Meetings, Wedding/Funeral Guild)

  • Assist in managing the food services budget and food donations.

  • Manage traffic at the Hanna Hall entrance, serving as the first point of contact for guests and neighbors. Use discernment to evaluate needs, ensure a safe and welcoming environment, and connect individuals with appropriate support or services.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Outreach Director.

  • Attending all staff meetings.

Qualifications:

  • They must be a member and active participant of Genesis Church of Fayetteville.

  • A heart for service in alignment with the mission and values of the church or ministry.

  • Education and/or Experience: Education equal to a high school diploma. Prior experience working in a diverse setting, especially with those experiencing the manifestations of poverty, in either a volunteer or paid staff capacity is necessary.

  • ServSafe Certification (Or willingness to obtain certification within 90 days from hire).

  • Computer Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word and Excel).

  • Language Skills: Ability to write schedules and conduct written correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before small and large groups.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to manage or feel. The employee is frequently required to walk; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to ten pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and work on your feet for extended periods.

Work Environment:

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but may be considered loud at unusual times. A driver's license is required for local travel between church and applicable functions. The requirements must be met to be added to the church's vehicle insurance.
