Genesis is Currently in the planning phase of launching a local Fayetteville Chapter of Circles USA
About Circles:
•Circles provides a comprehensive program for people who are willing and ready to move out of poverty.
•It’s about building intentional relationships across income lines.
•Volunteers and participants grow and learn together.
•Participants establish Goals and Future Plans and learn new tools to secure and sustain better jobs to improve economic stability.
•Volunteers get an in-depth education on the culture of poverty.
•This new understanding enables a community to identify, discuss, and often resolve the barriers that keep people in poverty.
•Changes the mindset so that systems can be transformed from poverty management to poverty reduction.
•Once participants graduate from the initial training class, they are known as Circle Leaders and are matched with 2-3 community volunteers known as Allies.
•Circles provides Weekly Meetings that Circle Leaders attend until they have reached their goal of 200% of Federal Poverty Guidelines.
•Once a month Circles holds a Big View event open to the public in which progress results are shared and community-wide barriers to stability are identified and solved.
•Circles brokers existing Community Resources into each Circle Leader’s plan.
•Circles is a long term solution centered around community building and is a necessary complement to various community efforts addressing poverty.
